The CDL Driver - Hazmat position at Heritage Pool Supply plays a critical role in the company’s logistics operations. This role demands a committed and safety-oriented professional who is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of hazardous materials and other products to various customer locations and job sites. The driver ensures deliveries are completed efficiently while strictly adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and FMCSA guidelines, reflecting the company’s commitment to safety and regulatory compliance. Beyond just delivering products, the driver embodies reliability and customer service excellence, acting as a trusted representative of Heritage Pool Supply.
This full-time role requires a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a Hazmat endorsement, along with a current DOT medical certification. Candidates must possess a clean driving record and be physically capable of handling freight and materials weighing up to 100 pounds throughout their shift. The position involves daily vehicle inspections, transporting goods in varying weather conditions, utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE), and carefully managing hazardous materials to ensure safety for the driver, the public, and the environment. Drivers also play a part in maintaining job site safety by identifying, reporting potential hazards, and adhering to strict loading and unloading procedures.

Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years old for transporting hazardous materials
- Must have a clean driving record (no hit and runs and no DWI/DUI in the last 18 months)
- Ability to continuously lift and handle freight/materials up to 100 pounds
- Must meet DOT medical certification standards
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must complete FMCSA Registration
- No prior experience required but commercial driving and safety regulation familiarity preferred
Job Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License
- HAZMAT Endorsement
- Current DOT Medical Certification
- Completion of FMCSA Registration
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and DOT compliance and OSHA safety regulations
- Basic computer skills to record deliveries and track inventory
- Air brake endorsement preferred
- Experience operating manual or automatic transmission vehicles preferred
- Valid and unexpired forklift certification preferred
- Valid and unexpired certification to operate a Moffett (truck-mounted forklift) preferred
- Prior commercial driving experience preferred
Job Duties
- Follow all DOT rules and maintain a clean driving record
- Comply with all federal and state regulations regarding transportation of hazardous materials
- Inspect vehicles before and after trips to help ensure safe and on-time deliveries
- Load, unload, and organize orders carefully ensuring that all products are properly secured and hazardous material is separated appropriately
- Understand and adhere to FMCSA regulations
- Double-check purchase orders and delivery tickets to confirm routes and inventory
- Support job site safety by checking for and reporting any potential hazards
- Take photos of all delivered products as required by company policy
- Keep accurate records of deliveries, vehicle inspections, and receipts
