Job Description

Core-Mark, a division of Performance Food Group, is a leading Fortune 150 company specializing in fresh and broad-line solutions to the convenience retail industry across the United States and Canada. With a solid reputation built on empowering customers, employees, and communities, Core-Mark has achieved annual revenues exceeding $23 billion. This success is driven by its state-of-the-art distribution centers, which offer a full portfolio of products, programs, and solutions tailored to meet the diverse needs of convenience retailers. The company emphasizes a safe, inclusive, and rewarding work environment fostering growth and employee recognition. Core-Mark's dedication to quality service and operational excellence makes it a preferred partner in the food distribution sector.

As a Linehaul (Shuttle) Driver based in Tallahassee, Florida, you will become an essential member of Core-Mark's transportation team. This role involves the intrastate and interstate transportation of empty trailers to Operating Company warehouse locations and the delivery of full trailers loaded with various products from the shuttle yards to associated destinations. Your work schedule will primarily be from Sunday through Thursday, starting at 5 pm, providing a predictable routine that supports work-life balance. Drivers in this role can expect competitive weekly pay of approximately $1,346, potentially earning about $72,000 annually, assuming minimum weekly requirements are met.

To successfully fulfill your role, you must hold a valid CDL A license with a doubles endorsement and possess recent driving experience, as pulling double trailers is a mandatory duty. Safety is paramount at Core-Mark; therefore, you will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards. You will also be responsible for reporting any mechanical issues or safety hazards promptly to maintain a secure operating environment.

In addition to transporting goods safely and on time, you'll be required to handle hook/unhook procedures, park and store tractor trailers in designated areas, and secure freight properly to prevent damage or theft. The role includes administrative responsibilities such as maintaining accurate daily records of hours of service in compliance with federal, state, and company policies. Interaction with customers, vendors, and co-workers requires professionalism and effective communication to resolve inquiries efficiently.

Core-Mark values team collaboration and encourages its drivers to act as integral parts of the organization by carrying out any additional duties as needed to support the company’s goals. As a driver, you will also benefit from a variety of perks including day-one health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, a 401(k) plan with employer matching, paid time off, and educational assistance, all designed to support your personal and professional growth.

This role offers not only a stable and rewarding career path within a robust and growing company but also the opportunity to contribute significantly to America's food distribution system. Core-Mark is committed to providing a workplace that embraces diversity and inclusion, ensuring equal opportunity for all employees regardless of background or personal characteristics, and provides reasonable accommodations to applicants with disabilities.
