Job Description

Pilgrim's is a leading global food company with over 62,000 team members worldwide. The company specializes in processing, preparing, packaging, and delivering fresh, frozen, and value-added food products for customers in more than 100 countries. Pilgrim's operates protein processing plants and prepared foods facilities in 14 states across the U.S., Puerto Rico, Mexico, the U.K., the Republic of Ireland, and continental Europe. The organization prides itself on its mission to be the best in all that it does, fully focused on its business by ensuring top-quality products and services to customers, building trust with suppliers, delivering profitability to shareholders, and creating opportunities for a better future for all team members. Pilgrim's core values include availability, determination, discipline, humility, ownership, simplicity, and sincerity, reflecting a culture of respect and integrity.

The Hatchery Egg Driver at Pilgrim's holds a critical role within the company’s supply chain, responsible for the safe and efficient transport of eggs from the company’s hatcheries to designated locations. This position requires consummate professionalism in operating commercial hauling equipment, adhering to strict delivery schedules, and maintaining high standards for safety and product quality. The driver engages closely with hatchery personnel, live production teams, and farm staff to ensure timely egg delivery and pickup, proper documentation, and effective communication throughout the process.

Safety is a foremost priority at Pilgrim's, as encapsulated in the company’s philosophy "Safety Is A Condition," emphasizing the protection and wellbeing of all team members. The Hatchery Egg Driver role demands rigorous compliance with transportation regulations, biosecurity protocols, and company policies, playing a vital part in supporting operational continuity and bird health. Operating commercial trucks safely and efficiently, conducting routine equipment inspections, and keeping trucks and work areas clean and orderly are essential job functions.

Pilgrim's values effective communication and teamwork; hence the egg driver must communicate clearly with various associates, maintenance staff, growers, and supervisors to share pertinent information on farm conditions and operational updates. The role requires the driver to follow housekeeping schedules while utilizing proper personal protective equipment (PPE). Additionally, the driver must have the physical ability to lift 50 pounds or more and operate manual Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs).

This position typically involves a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday schedule starting at around 6 a.m. with working hours averaging 10 to 12 hours daily, although the schedule may fluctuate depending on egg inventory, and occasional Wednesday or weekend work may be required. The base hourly wage for this role is $30 per hour, complemented by comprehensive benefits including vision, medical, and dental coverage beginning after 60 days of employment, paid vacation time, and a 401(k) plan with company matching after one year of service following the company vesting schedule.

Pilgrim's is committed to continuous professional development, offering learning programs and career growth opportunities to its team members. The company also ensures a safe and secure work environment by conducting drug, alcohol, and background checks for all new employees as part of its hiring process. Compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act is enforced by verifying employment eligibility within the first three days of employment.

In summary, the Hatchery Egg Driver position at Pilgrim's is a professionally rewarding opportunity for skilled CDL Class A commercial vehicle drivers who are safety-conscious, reliable, and aligned with the company’s values and mission. This role provides a stable and stimulating work environment with solid benefits, career development, and a chance to be part of a global leader in food production and supply chain management.
