This role of CDL-B Driver is a vital component of Performance Foodservice's supply chain operations. The CDL-B Driver is primarily responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of food and food-related products, playing a crucial role in the country’s food supply system. Earning an average annual salary between $70,000 and $80,000, this full-time position offers boots and uniforms provided by the company, along with free products for employees. The driver will operate tractor trailers or straight trucks on a variety of routes including intrastate, interstate, over-the-road, shuttle, and overnight runs. Adhering strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, the CDL-B Driver ensures that products arrive on time and in good condition, maintaining professional communication with customers, vendors, and coworkers.

Physical capability to handle freight weighing up to 90 pounds and the use of equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates are essential to this role. The CDL-B Driver is also responsible for general upkeep of the tractor and loading areas, maintaining clean working environments, and completing necessary administrative tasks promptly.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- 12 or more months commercial driving experience
- Valid CDL - A or B
- Must be 21 or older
- Meet all state licensing and certification requirements where applicable
- Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass road test
- Attain or have valid current DOT health card or able to secure new DOT health card
- Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate or other equipment to move or stack product cases or freight of varying sizes and weights

Job Duties
- Perform all required safety checks including pre and post trip inspections of tractor, truck, and trailer according to DOT regulations
- Report all safety issues and repairs required
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- Perform count check of items and check customer invoices of loaded products
- Complete all required paperwork associated with freight accurately and legibly
- Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined delivery schedule
- Unload products from trailers and transport items into designated customer storage areas
