Job Description
SRS Building Products is a leading supplier of building materials committed to delivering quality products and exceptional service to the construction industry. With a focus on operational excellence and customer satisfaction, SRS operates multiple branch locations including the Kalamazoo facility, strategically positioned to serve regional building projects efficiently. The company emphasizes safety, professionalism, and teamwork as its core values, ensuring that both employees and customers experience a reliable and supportive partnership. Operating as a provider of essential building materials, SRS’s reputation is built on timely delivery, product integrity, and fostering strong relationships within the construction market.
The CDL Driver position at SRS is a critical role responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of building materials to various job sites within a 200-mile radius of the home branch. These deliveries are performed daily without overnight stays, ensuring that materials reach their destinations on time, intact, and with complete inventory verification. The CDL Driver must follow Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards at all times, highlighting a strong commitment to safety and compliance. This position plays a vital part in supporting operational efficiency by performing thorough vehicle inspections, maintaining accurate delivery documentation, and upholding high service standards through effective communication and customer coordination on-site.
The role requires a proactive approach to assessing job site conditions to avoid hazards and collaborating closely with customers to optimize material placement. Drivers are also expected to provide occasional support in yard operations, maintaining a safe and clean working environment while promoting teamwork among colleagues. Physical endurance is necessary, as the job involves handling heavy materials up to 100 pounds, loading and unloading with forklifts or manually, and working in varying weather conditions. Successful candidates will demonstrate adaptability, excellent attention to detail, and a dedication to customer service, contributing positively to the overall reputation and success of SRS Building Products.
Reporting to the Assistant Branch Manager or Operations Manager, the CDL Driver may have opportunities to supervise or train junior drivers, further fostering leadership and mentorship within the team. SRS values diversity and inclusion, offering reasonable accommodations under the ADA to support employees with disabilities. The company provides competitive weekly or bi-weekly pay, discretionary bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) with company match, employee stock purchase plan, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and more. SRS Distribution Inc. is an equal employment opportunity employer, committed to creating a workplace where all individuals can thrive regardless of race, gender, age, or other protected characteristics. The CDL Driver position is ideal for individuals seeking a stable and rewarding career in commercial driving within the building materials industry, emphasizing safety, service, and teamwork.
