Job Description
ABC Supply is America's largest wholesale distributor of exterior and interior building products, serving professionals in the construction industry with a comprehensive selection of materials for residential and commercial projects. Established as a nationally recognized leader, ABC Supply prides itself on its expansive reach, exceptional customer service, and commitment to employee satisfaction. Their reputation for quality and reliability has made them a go-to source for contractors, builders, and remodelers across the country. With a focus on fostering a positive work environment, ABC Supply has consistently been honored with prestigious awards such as the Gallup Great Workplace Award every year since 2007 and recognition from Glassdoor as one of the best places to work in the United States. Their employee-first philosophy ensures that team members are valued, supported, and encouraged to develop their careers within the company.
The available position is for a licensed CDL Driver who is eager to advance their career in a professional and stable setting. This role offers the unique opportunity to do what drivers love most – professional driving – while still maintaining a healthy work-life balance by being home every night. The driver’s primary responsibility is to ensure the safe and timely delivery of building materials from the ABC Supply facility to job sites. The company emphasizes the importance of safety and professionalism throughout every stage of the delivery process, from pre-trip inspections to completing thorough documentation of each delivery. Drivers will be working closely with delivery material handlers, following precise schedules, and maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
This position does not require over-the-road travel, making it ideal for those who prefer local driving and consistent routes. Specific duties include treating customers with courtesy and professionalism, establishing a safe work zone on-site, utilizing smartphone camera systems to document deliveries, and handling all required paperwork accurately. Drivers may also be involved in warehouse-related responsibilities such as loading and unloading trucks, further contributing to the seamless delivery process. ABC Supply values safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction, and seeks dedicated CDL drivers who are capable of upholding these standards through responsible and efficient performance.
ABC Supply recognizes the physical demands of the job, requiring drivers to be capable of lifting 75 to 100 pounds repeatedly, as most cargo will include heavy bundles of shingles. The company conducts pre-employment and random drug screenings to maintain a safe working environment. While knuckle boom truck experience and crane certification are preferred, they are not mandatory. The employer offers a comprehensive benefits package after only 60 days of employment, including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with immediate vesting and a generous company match, paid vacation, sick days, holidays, and more.
As an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse workforce, ABC Supply encourages applications from women, minorities, veterans, and individuals with arrest or conviction records pursuant to Philadelphia’s Fair Chance Hiring Law. The company’s culture promotes growth, respect, and career advancement, making it an outstanding opportunity for CDL drivers ready to join a leading organization in the building products distribution industry.
