Job Description

ABC Supply is America’s largest wholesale distributor of exterior and interior building products, renowned for its nationwide footprint and commitment to quality service. As a well-established leader in the building materials industry, ABC Supply supports contractors and builders with a comprehensive range of products that meet diverse construction needs. The company stands out for its employee-centric culture, having earned the prestigious Gallup Great Workplace Award every year since 2007 and being recognized by Glassdoor as one of the best workplaces in the United States. This highlights ABC Supply’s dedication not only to customers but also to its workforce by fostering a rewarding, supportive, and safe work environment.

This particular role is designed for licensed CDL Drivers who want to advance their careers with a stable, nationally recognized company. ABC Supply offers professional drivers the opportunity to do what they love each day while enjoying the advantage of being home every night since this position does not require over-the-road travel. Drivers will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely delivery of products from ABC Supply facilities to various customer job sites. The position emphasizes the importance of safety, professionalism, and accuracy in handling deliveries and communicating with customers.

The CDL Driver will be responsible for maintaining high standards of customer service by treating every customer with friendliness and professionalism. The role involves maintaining a safe work zone at every job site and strictly adhering to delivery schedules and job directives. Drivers will use ABC Supply’s technology for documenting each delivery by capturing photos and uploading them through the company’s camera phone system, ensuring clear communication and accountability throughout the delivery process. Prior to departure from the branch, each driver will perform a thorough load check to confirm that all materials are securely loaded and that the truck complies with federal, state, and local safety regulations.

Collaboration is also a key aspect of this job, as drivers work alongside delivery material handlers to unload and position materials correctly. In addition to performing deliveries, this role may also involve warehouse duties, including loading and unloading materials on or off trucks or within the warehouse, as assigned. Drivers must complete and file all required government paperwork and logs precisely and timely. They are also responsible for providing customers with invoices upon delivery completion and collecting payments for cash-on-delivery (COD) orders.

ABC Supply values its drivers by offering comprehensive benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance shortly after starting, a competitive 401(k) plan with generous company matching and immediate vesting, and employer-paid short-term and long-term disability and life insurance. The company also offers flexible spending accounts, paid vacation, paid sick leave, and paid holidays. Pre-employment and random drug screenings are mandatory to maintain a safe and reliable workforce. This position is ideal for CDL drivers who possess physical endurance, strong safety standards, and a commitment to customer satisfaction, looking for a fulfilling career with a top-ranked employer in the building supply industry.
