SRS Distribution prides itself on fostering a supportive and inclusive working environment where employees are valued as the greatest asset. The company emphasizes providing training opportunities alongside promoting work-life balance, making it a desirable employer for those seeking long-term career growth in the logistics and delivery sector.
The role available is for a Delivery Driver based at the National Structure location in Wilmington, NC. This position demands a highly responsible individual capable of operating commercial motor vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to company policies as well as federal and state regulations. The primary responsibility is to ensure the timely and damage-free delivery of building materials to commercial and residential job sites. Working collaboratively as part of a team, the Delivery Driver will also be involved in loading and unloading materials, requiring both physical stamina and technical knowledge of safe handling practices. This position highlights the importance of delivering world-class customer service, as drivers represent the company directly to clients on the front lines. The role also expects comprehensive compliance with transportation regulations, meticulous recordkeeping, and proactive communication with management to report any incidents or operational concerns.
In addition to the core operational tasks, this role demands a driver who exhibits high integrity, leadership skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within the team. Candidates must be proactive, demonstrate sound judgment, and have the ability to manage multiple priorities under stressful conditions, particularly in meeting customer deadlines. Physical requirements are significant, including the ability to lift heavy building materials (up to 100 lbs) and extensive time spent operating or unloading vehicles. The position also calls for clear communication skills with coworkers and customers, ensuring smooth operations and problem resolution during deliveries.
SRS Distribution offers competitive compensation, including weekly or bi-weekly pay, discretionary bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package such as 401(k) with company match, employee stock purchase plan, paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, as well as company-paid life and disability coverage. All offers are subject to background checks and drug screens where permitted by law. The company is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion, providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities or disabled veterans during the application process.
This Delivery Driver position at SRS Distribution is ideal for motivated individuals who are looking to build a career in building materials distribution with a reputable and growth-focused employer. It offers a robust support system, opportunities for professional development, and a dynamic work environment where safety, efficiency, and customer service are top priorities.
