The Delivery Driver role at Valley Interior Products is a critical position responsible for the safe and efficient operation of commercial motor vehicles. This role focuses on transporting building materials safely and on schedule to assigned job sites while complying with all company policies as well as federal and state regulations. The driver's key objectives are to maintain the integrity of the freight during transport, maintain meticulous records for regulatory compliance, and deliver a world-class customer service experience through professional interaction. The role emphasizes teamwork where drivers collaborate to load and unload materials with care and efficiency. Physically demanding, the position requires stamina and the ability to handle heavy building materials up to 100 pounds. The driver must possess a valid commercial driver’s license (minimum Class B, Class A preferred), a clean motor vehicle record, and knowledge of Department of Transportation rules. Responsibilities include pre-trip vehicle inspections, safe loading and unloading, accident reporting, and driving with a strong focus on safety for self and others. Additionally, the driver will demonstrate competencies such as trust, integrity, effective communication, leadership, and self-management. The working environment involves constant outdoor activity in all weather conditions and frequent use of boom trucks or flatbeds. Job Requirements
- Ability to remain in a stationary position while driving commercial vehicle approximately 40% of the time
- Ability to lift heavy building materials up to 80 lbs. for loading and unloading
- Frequent movement of materials weighing up to 80 lbs. while unloading flatbed trucks
- Constant movement while unloading materials from commercial motor vehicles onto job sites
- Constant operation of commercial motor vehicles and/or boom vehicles
- Frequent positioning to unload materials from flatbed or boom trucks
- Ability to judge distance while delivering materials and/or operating boom equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively with management and coworkers
- Constantly work in outdoor environments while making deliveries
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) required
- Minimum Class B license required
- Class A strongly preferred
- Clear three (3) year motor vehicle report (MVR) required
- Overall knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing
- Ability to lead, execute, and/or delegate as needed
- Ability to self-manage, show initiative, be proactive, and drive results
- Strong integrity and trustworthiness

Job Duties
- Inspect truck and trailer for defects to ensure safe operation
- Safely load building materials onto flatbed or boom trucks and unload products at commercial and residential job sites
- Deliver materials to assigned areas as directed by the customer while prioritizing personal safety and the safety of others
- Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations
- Report all accidents involving the driver or company equipment
- Demonstrate stamina to lift heavy building materials up to 100+ lbs. for loading and unloading
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional attitude
