The CDL Class B Route Driver position based in Greenville, SC at the White Horse retail shop, offers a Monday through Friday schedule with a 6 am start time, ensuring drivers return home daily. This role is essential in ensuring the safe transportation, loading, and unloading of compressed gas cylinders between various locations, while maintaining strict adherence to documentation and vehicle safety inspections. The driver will be entrusted with operating Class B Hazmat vehicles, delivering compressed and liquid gas cylinders along assigned routes, and managing customer service by collecting empty cylinders and addressing customer inquiries to guarantee satisfaction.

Additional responsibilities include meticulous recording of all transactions and obtaining customer signatures, handling logistics related to loading and unloading materials, and conducting thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and vehicle upkeep. The role demands a professional demeanor as drivers represent the company during all deliveries. Job Requirements

  • Valid Class A or B driver's license
  • Valid Medical Examiner's Card
  • Hazmat Endorsement or ability to obtain within 60 days
  • Minimum age of 21 years
  • One year of Class A professional driving experience within last five years
  • Completion of Airgas Background and Motor Vehicle Check
  • DOT Clearinghouse verification
  • Ability to lift and move 25 - 75 lbs regularly and occasionally over 76 lbs
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather
  • Drug-free workplace compliance
  • Adherence to safety protocols
  • Flexibility for overtime work

Job Qualifications

  • Must have a valid Class A or B driver's license
  • Valid Medical Examiner's Card
  • Hazmat Endorsement or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • One year of prior Class A professional driving experience within the last five years
  • Successful completion of Airgas Background and Motor Vehicle Check
  • DOT Clearinghouse verification from previous employers
  • Ability to lift or move 25 - 75 lbs regularly and occasionally lift over 76 lbs
  • Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures
  • Ability to maintain a drug-free workplace
  • Adherence to safety regulations and policies
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Touch freight delivery experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Operate a Class B Hazmat vehicle to deliver compressed and liquid gas cylinders as well as hard goods along designated routes
  • Collect empty cylinders from customers and address inquiries to ensure complete satisfaction
  • Record all transactions accurately and obtain necessary customer signatures
  • Handle the loading and unloading of all materials
  • Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections noting any issues to ensure full safety compliance and vehicle maintenance
  • Maintain a professional appearance and serve as a company representative during all deliveries
