Job Description

Performance Foodservice, a division of Performance Food Group (PFG), is a leading broadline foodservice distributor. The company maintains strong and lasting relationships with a diverse portfolio of customers including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. The team at Performance Foodservice, composed of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and other professionals, works closely with customers to provide expert advice on operations improvement, menu development, product selection, and other operational strategies. This supportive approach helps independent restaurant owners and other clients not only with product delivery but also with overall business success. Performance Foodservice places a strong emphasis on quality service, building community connections, and fostering growth opportunities for its employees.

The company offers competitive pay and benefits starting from day one, including health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off. Their workplace culture prioritizes safety, inclusivity, and respect, encouraging a positive and rewarding environment where employees are recognized for their contributions.

The Shuttle Driver role is vital to the company’s operations, focusing on transporting empty and full trailers safely and efficiently between warehouse locations and shuttle yards. The position involves operating a tandem trailer, tractor trailer, or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes. Responsibilities include performing safety inspections, ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and maintaining accurate records of hours of service. The Shuttle Driver also plays an important role in communication, interacting professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers.

This night shift position, from Sunday to Thursday, offers a pay rate starting at $300 per night. The role demands adherence to safety protocols and requires physical capability to handle product cases and freight weighing 60 to 90 pounds using equipment like two-wheelers and lift gates. The Shuttle Driver helps ensure timely and secure transportation of goods essential to America’s food distribution system.

Safety checks are a critical aspect of the job, requiring drivers to inspect tractor/truck and trailer before and after trips, report safety issues, and follow company driving policies strictly. The driver is also responsible for securing freight properly, performing hook/unhook procedures safely, parking equipment correctly, and keeping equipment and trailers clean. Other duties include handling damaged goods and customer returns, unloading materials as required, and working collaboratively as part of the Operations team.

Performance Foodservice is committed to equal employment opportunities and values diversity within its workforce. The company strictly adheres to federal, state, and local employment laws and promotes a respectful, equitable workplace environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for those seeking stable employment with growth potential in a company dedicated to delivering quality foodservice products while supporting a cooperative and friendly work culture.
