The role of a Shuttle Driver at Core-Mark is integral to maintaining the efficiency and reliability of the company's food distribution system. The position is based in Glenwillow, Ohio, requiring a dedication to safety and service excellence within a Sunday through Thursday night shift schedule, specifically between 9 pm and 11 pm dispatch times. Shuttle Drivers are responsible for the safe transport of empty and full trailers to and from Core-Mark’s warehouse and shuttle yard locations. This role demands a valid CDL A license with a doubles endorsement, compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and a clean Motor Vehicle Report for the past three years. As the face of Core-Mark during deliveries, Shuttle Drivers represent the company in professional interactions with customers, vendors, and coworkers, building lasting relationships based on reliability and professionalism. Job Duties

  • perform all required safety checks including pre and post trip inspections of tractor and trailer according to DOT regulations
  • report all safety issues and repairs required
  • follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
  • immediately report all safety hazards
  • inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
  • ensure all required route paperwork is with tractor trailer load and available upon dispatch
  • drive and deliver trailers according to predetermined route schedule
  • perform hook and unhook procedures per safety guidelines
  • park and store tractor trailers in designated areas
  • ensure all equipment and freight are appropriately locked and secured
  • collect and secure damaged goods and customer returns
  • unload equipment, materials and remove trash from trailers as required
  • complete daily record of hours of service and log in accordance with federal DOT, state and company requirements
  • perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean as required
  • perform other related duties as assigned
