The Shuttle Driver role at Core-Mark is vital to supporting America's food distribution system by transporting trailers and goods safely and efficiently. Positioned at the Glenwillow, Ohio facility, this job includes a Sunday-Thursday night shift, focusing on shuttling empty trailers to warehouse locations and delivering full trailers back to designated yards. This position offers competitive compensation of approximately $300 per day or about $78,000 annually, aligning with the importance of the role in the supply chain. The Shuttle Driver is responsible for the secure, timely, and compliant transportation of freight while upholding safety standards set by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and company policies. They act as frontline representatives of Core-Mark, building and maintaining strong customer relationships by interacting professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers. This role requires a valid CDL A license with a doubles endorsement, at least six months of commercial driving experience, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 6 months commercial driving experience
- Valid CDL A with doubles endorsement
- Minimum age of 21 years
- Compliance with state licensing or certification requirements
- Clean motor vehicle report for the past 3 years
- Available to work Sunday-Thursday night shifts
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug test
- Pass DOT road test
- Possession of valid current DOT health card or able to obtain new one
- Ability to hand-lift and operate equipment to move products weighing 60 to 90 pounds
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience
- 6+ months commercial driving experience
- Valid CDL A with doubles endorsement
- Must be 21 years of age
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
- Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- Work required 3rd shift schedule, Sunday-Thursday nights
- Pass pre-employment drug test
- Pass road test
- Valid current DOT health card and/or able to secure new DOT health card
- Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or equipment to move and stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift
Job Duties
- Perform all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation regulations
- Inspect tractor/truck and trailer to ensure company safety standards are met and take appropriate action
- Report all safety issues and/or repairs required
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- Immediately report all safety hazards
- Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- Ensure all required route paperwork is with tractor trailer load and available upon dispatch
- Drive and deliver trailers according to predetermined route schedule
- Perform hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines
- Park and store tractor trailers in designated areas
- Ensure all equipment and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured
- Collect and secure damaged goods and customer returns in empty trailers to bring back to base facility and complete necessary paperwork
- Unload all equipment, materials and remove trash from trailers as required
- Complete daily record of hours of service and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
- Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clean
- Perform other related duties as assigned
