Job Description

Performance Food Group (PFG) is a leading broadline foodservice distributor known for its extensive network and dedication to supporting local businesses. Serving a diverse range of customers including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries, PFG stands out not only for its comprehensive product offerings but also for its commitment to customer service excellence. The company’s team, which includes sales representatives, chefs, and consultants, collaborates closely with clients to provide strategic advice on operations, menu development, product selection, and other operational strategies that enhance business success. This approach has positioned Performance Food Group as a trusted partner in the foodservice industry, delivering quality products and added value beyond basic distribution.

Performance Food Group is currently seeking dependable and motivated Food and Foodservice Delivery Drivers to join their dynamic team. This role is essential to the nation’s food supply chain as these drivers ensure timely, safe, and accurate delivery of food and food-related products to customers. The position offers competitive compensation starting at $320 per day during a five-week training period and increasing to a minimum of $400 per day thereafter. Drivers operate Monday through Friday with early dispatch times at 2 AM and average 10-hour shifts, providing a work schedule that avoids weekends. The work involves touch freight, mixed pallets, and ramp/hand truck handling, with preference given to candidates with foodservice or beverage delivery experience.

As the face of Performance Food Group, delivery drivers play a crucial role in cultivating strong, lasting customer relationships by providing professional, courteous service. They are responsible for operating tractor trailers or straight trucks for intrastate and interstate deliveries, including local, over-the-road, shuttle, and overnight routes. Adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety guidelines is paramount to ensuring all deliveries meet safety and compliance standards while preserving product integrity.

Food and Foodservice Delivery Drivers must carry out thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and promptly report any safety issues or repairs needed. They are expected to handle all logistical tasks related to securing, loading, and unloading freight, verifying accuracy of shipment contents, completing necessary paperwork, collecting payments when applicable, and maintaining cleanliness and security of equipment. This role demands physical capability to lift and move products weighing between 10 to 90 pounds using equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates. The company fosters a safe, inclusive environment that values respect, recognition, and employee well-being, enhanced by a robust benefits package including health and wellness plans from day one, a 401K employer match, employee stock purchase opportunities, education assistance, and paid time off.

Joining Performance Food Group as a delivery driver means becoming part of an organization that values its employees and customers alike, offering growth opportunities in a critical industry sector. This position is not only about driving trucks but also about supporting the food distribution system that feeds communities across America, making a significant impact every day.
