The role encompasses many responsibilities including thorough pre- and post-trip safety inspections, secure loading and unloading of freight, professional interaction with customers and vendors, accurate record keeping, and compliance with all safety policies. Drivers serve as the outward face of the company in the field, building lasting customer relationships and representing PFG’s commitment to service excellence.

The CDL-A Driver's duties extend beyond driving; they must inspect freight conditions, ensure freight security, verify documentation accuracy, and handle customer signatures and payments when necessary. Additionally, drivers perform damage control checks and manage returns including unloading and processing damaged goods. Compliance with DOT hours of service logging and maintaining cleanliness and security of equipment and trailers are integral parts of the job. This role also supports the company’s culture of safety, collaboration, and integrity by participating as valued team members willing to perform any necessary duties that best serve PFG and its customers.

Performance Foodservice is proud to provide a safe and inclusive working environment and offers ample growth opportunities for employees who contribute to supporting America’s vital food distribution system. Benefits are comprehensive and include day-one health and wellness coverage, a robust employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance programs, paid time off, and more.
