The Driver, Formula CDL-A, plays a pivotal role in Performance Foodservice’s logistical operations by ensuring timely and safe delivery of food and food-related products to customers. This role requires operating tractor trailers or straight trucks on various routes, including intrastate, interstate, local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight drives. The position emphasizes compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards. The delivery driver serves as the face of the company, fostering positive customer relationships through professionalism, punctuality, and exceptional service.
Key responsibilities for this role include performing mandatory safety inspections, accurately completing delivery and freight paperwork, ensuring secure loading and unloading of goods, and verifying deliveries with customers. The role demands commitment to safety reporting, hazard identification, and adherence to all federal, state, and company guidelines.
Working hours are typically 4-5 days a week based on business needs, with no work required on Sundays. Shifts average between 10-12 hours with dispatch times varying between 12 AM and 5 AM depending on the assigned route. Employees benefit from split days off, contributing to work-life balance while engaging in meaningful and stable employment with Performance Foodservice.
