The company prides itself on building strong, collaborative relationships through its team of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and experts who provide tailored advice on operational improvements, menu development, product selection, and strategic growth. With this holistic approach, Performance Foodservice not only delivers high-quality food products but also supports independent restaurant owners in achieving their business goals and enhancing their culinary offerings. The company fosters a culture centered on safety, respect, and inclusivity, ensuring employees feel valued and empowered in their roles. It offers competitive salaries, including starting pay at $36.42 per hour plus daily overtime, and a comprehensive benefits package that begins from day one, enabling employees to thrive both professionally and personally.

The role of a Food and Food Service Delivery Driver is vital to the efficiency and success of the food supply chain. As the frontline representatives of Performance Foodservice, drivers ensure that food and related products are delivered accurately, safely, and on schedule, maintaining the integrity of the supply chain while building lasting relationships with customers. This position involves operating tractor trailers or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, including local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop deliveries. Key responsibilities include conducting pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, handling product loading and unloading, managing required documentation, and ensuring safe transport and delivery of freight. Drivers must communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers to address inquiries and foster teamwork within the department. Other tasks include securing freight, collecting payments when necessary, performing damage control checks, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of equipment and trailers. A strong focus on safety is integral, with drivers expected to report hazards promptly and adhere strictly to all federal and company guidelines.

Candidates for this position must possess a valid CDL A license and have at least 12 months of commercial driving experience. A high school diploma, GED, or state-approved equivalent is required, along with the ability to meet all state licensing or certification requirements. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, possess a clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years, and be able to pass post-offer drug tests, criminal background checks, and road tests. Additionally, drivers must have a valid current DOT Health Card or be able to obtain one. The role requires physical capability to hand-lift and handle product cases or freight weighing between 10 and 90 pounds using equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates.

Performance Foodservice values diversity, offering equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, marital status, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or other legally protected characteristics. The company promotes a safe and inclusive working environment that rewards and recognizes employee contributions.
