Through a dedicated team of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and other experts, Performance Foodservice not only delivers high-quality food products but also offers valuable advice on improving operations, menu development, product selection, and operational strategies. The company prides itself on supporting independent restaurant owners and other foodservice clients in achieving their business goals and dreams. It is recognized for fostering a culture centered on teamwork, respect, and inclusion, creating a rewarding and safe working environment for all employees.
The CDL-A Driver position is a crucial role within Performance Foodservice’s supply chain operations, responsible for the safe and timely delivery of food and related products. With a guaranteed training pay of $1,500 per week and an average annual pay of $100,000 post-training, this role offers competitive compensation alongside a variety of benefits such as day-one health and wellness coverage, a robust employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off. Candidates can also take advantage of a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 depending on experience, as well as numerous opportunities for career growth within the company.
As a CDL-A Driver, you will be responsible for driving tractor trailers or straight trucks both locally and across state lines on various routes including over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop assignments. This role requires strict adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety guidelines to ensure the secure transport and delivery of products. Beyond driving, this position involves conducting thorough vehicle inspections before and after each trip, loading and unloading freight, verifying deliveries with customers, and handling any necessary paperwork. Drivers represent the face of the company to customers and are expected to build lasting, positive relationships through professional communication and reliable service.
The work schedule is variable, necessitating flexibility, and the job demands physical capability to handle product cases generally ranging between 10 to 35 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 to 90 pounds. Performance Foodservice maintains a workplace focused on equality and diversity, where every employee is valued and supported regardless of background or identity. This role is ideal for individuals seeking a stable, well-paying career with an established company that values safety, teamwork, and customer service.
