Job Description

Performance Foodservice, the broadline distribution arm of Performance Food Group (PFG), is a leading supplier serving a wide range of local customers, including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. Known for its comprehensive and relationship-driven approach, PFG goes beyond simple food delivery by offering expert advice on operations, menu development, and product selection to its valued customers. With a dynamic team of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and other industry specialists, Performance Foodservice is committed to helping independent restaurant owners and foodservice clients achieve their business goals and elevate their operations to new heights. The company fosters a safe and inclusive work environment where team members are recognized, rewarded, and respected for their contributions to the company's success.

The CDL-A Delivery Driver role at Performance Foodservice is a critical position in maintaining the country’s food supply chain. Drivers are entrusted not just with the responsibility of transporting products safely and efficiently, but also with representing the company’s values and commitment to customer satisfaction. This position offers competitive annual pay averaging $106,000, with the potential for an additional $10,000 through hiring bonuses. The role is full-time and comes with Day 1 health and wellness benefits, employee stock purchase plan options, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and other extensive benefits.

As a CDL-A Delivery Driver, you will operate tractor trailers or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, including local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight delivery schedules. Your key duties include ensuring that products reach customers as scheduled in good condition, complying with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, conducting thorough pre- and post-trip safety inspections, managing freight loading and unloading, and maintaining accurate delivery documentation. Beyond technical skills, this role requires excellent communication and customer service expertise, as drivers are the face of Performance Foodservice, building lasting relationships with clients and upholding the company's professional image.

Safety is a paramount focus, with drivers expected to perform all required safety checks, report hazards promptly, and adhere strictly to DOT regulations and company policies. The ability to handle physical tasks such as hand-lifting freight—which can range from 10 to 90 pounds—and using equipment like lift gates and two-wheelers is essential for successful job performance. As part of the team, drivers contribute to a culture that values respect, recognition, and mutual support, helping to create a positive work atmosphere and uphold operational excellence.

Joining Performance Foodservice as a CDL-A Delivery Driver means being part of an essential industry that supports America’s food distribution system. This role offers not only financial stability and competitive pay, but also opportunities for career growth and personal development within a company that prioritizes employee welfare and inclusiveness. If you are a skilled CDL-A driver looking for a rewarding career with a reputable company dedicated to quality service and professional growth, Performance Foodservice is an ideal place to advance your career.
