Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- Valid CDL A license
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Meet all applicable state licensing and certification requirements
- Clean motor vehicle report for past three years
- Pass post offer drug test
- Pass road test
- Attain valid DOT Health Card
- Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move product cases and freight
- 0-6 months experience with CDL for external candidates
- 1 year of service in good standing for internal candidates
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- Internal PFG candidates must have 1 year of service in good standing as outlined in the PFG Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program and be able to attain CDL Permit and DOT Health Card
- External entry level hire with 0-6 months experience with a CDL
- Valid CDL A
- Must be 21 years of age
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
- Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test
- Pass road test
- Attain or have valid current DOT Health Card
- Able to hand-lift and use two-wheeler, lift gate or other equipment to move product cases typically weighing 60 to 90 pounds
Job Duties
- Attend and successfully complete PFG Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program as required
- Ride with and assist driver trainer in executing deliveries as required and follow all instructions given
- Perform all required safety checks including pre and post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies and report any safety hazards immediately
- Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight, perform count check of items, and complete accurate paperwork
- Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
- Unload products from trailer, transport items into customer storage areas, verify delivery with customer, and obtain proper signatures
- Secure tractor, trailer, and freight at all times
- Unload damaged goods and customer returns and complete necessary paperwork
- Complete daily record of hours of service and log entry per Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
- Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor and loading dock area and complete all necessary paperwork at shift end
- Perform other related duties as assigned
