The company is committed to fostering a safe and inclusive working environment that promotes culture of rewards, recognition, and respect.

This job opening is for an entry-level driver trainee role within PFG Customized Distribution. This position is ideal for individuals beginning their career in transportation and logistics who are eager to gain hands-on experience driving tractor trailers or straight trucks in an intrastate and/or interstate capacity. The role involves performing deliveries on local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and/or overnight routes, ensuring timely and safe delivery of various food and food-related products to customers. The position offers a four-night work week with dispatch hours between 8:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m., a weekly minimum guarantee of $1,450 (translating to an anticipated annual salary range of $80,000 to $90,000), and a $2,500 referral bonus to employees who successfully refer new hires.

The driver trainee will engage in a comprehensive training program where they will ride with a driver trainer, assist in deliveries, and perform all required safety inspections and checks in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies. The role emphasizes adherence to safety standards and regulations, requiring trainees to report any safety hazards or repair needs promptly. Additional responsibilities include inspecting trailers for properly loaded and secured freight, completing accurate paperwork, unloading products at customer locations, and maintaining cleanliness and security of transport equipment.

Successful candidates will learn industry best practices and contribute meaningfully to PFG’s mission to efficiently support America’s food distribution system. The company offers excellent benefits from day one, including health and wellness benefits, employee stock purchase plans, 401K employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off, making it a supportive environment for career growth and professional development.
