With an extensive network of local customers including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries, Performance Foodservice prides itself on not only delivering high-quality food products but also providing comprehensive support and advisory services to help their customers succeed. The company fosters a safe and inclusive workplace culture that rewards, recognizes, and respects its employees while providing competitive compensation and robust benefits from day one. These benefits include health and wellness coverage, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and a range of other employee-centered programs that underline their dedication to the well-being and professional growth of their workforce.

The position available is for an Entry-Level Driver Trainee role, designed to train and develop new drivers in the company’s logistics and delivery operations. This role serves as a critical component in ensuring the efficient transport and delivery of food and related products to various customers within intrastate and interstate routes. As a Driver Trainee, individuals will gain hands-on experience driving either tractor trailers or straight trucks, undertaking local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight deliveries. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring strict adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies, with a clear focus on performing deliveries in a timely, safe, and professional manner.

New hires in this role will participate in a mandatory two-week training program located in Little Rock, which covers essential aspects of delivery driving, DOT compliance, vehicle inspection, customer interaction, and safe handling of freight. The training program facilitates a hands-on 'ride along' experience with an experienced driver trainer to ensure that trainees acquire the practical knowledge and skills necessary to succeed. Driver Trainees will be expected to perform vehicle safety checks, secure freight properly, complete accurate paperwork, and maintain communication with supervisors and customers while fostering a positive team environment within the department and throughout the company.

Compensation for this role ranges from $62,000 to $85,000 annually and is accompanied by a Monday through Friday schedule with dispatch times early in the morning, providing a stable work-life balance. The position is ideal for individuals seeking to launch a career in the commercial driving industry with a reputable company recognized for its commitment to employee development and customer service excellence. Performance Foodservice stands out as an employer of choice among foodservice distribution companies, with a culture that encourages growth, diversity, and a collaborative spirit focused on delivering quality service and building strong community ties.
