The role of a US Foods Driver based in Charleston, SC, involves being a vital part of this dynamic organization by ensuring timely and safe delivery of products to customers. After training, employees are compensated with a combination of base pay plus component pay that reflects miles driven, cases delivered, and stops completed. This position requires a strong commitment to safety and customer service. Drivers operate with dispatch schedules typically between 3:00 am and 6:00 am, Monday through Saturday. The work schedule includes two shift options: Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday, and flexibility to work either shift is necessary. This role involves driving trucks safely, meeting all OSHA and DOT standards, and delivering products precisely on schedule. The driver is responsible for accurately unloading products using equipment such as pallet jacks or by hand and ensuring that deliveries are verified and signed off by customers.

The physical demands of the job are notable, with the necessity to repeatedly lift or carry heavy loads ranging from 20 to over 80 pounds during each shift. Drivers must also be comfortable working in all weather conditions with frequent stops.   • Must pass all DOT and company safety standards

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
  • Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas
  • Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures
  • Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
  • Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience
  • Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
