The position of CDL-A Driver within PFG Customized Distribution is vital to the country's food supply chain. This role is responsible for driving tractor trailers or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, including local deliveries, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight operations. Drivers will perform drive and drop routes focused on delivering and/or unloading food and food-related products to customers promptly and safely in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The CDL-A Driver is not only responsible for timely and accurate deliveries but also acts as a face of the company, fostering long-term relationships with customers.

Candidates for this full-time position can expect an attractive compensation package, starting with a welcome bonus of $6,000 (terms apply) and a guaranteed minimum weekly pay of $1,350. The average annual earning ranges from $70,000 to $80,000, reflecting the company’s commitment to rewarding its workforce. The work schedule generally spans from Sunday to Saturday, requiring a minimum of four days per week, with varying day shifts and dispatch times typically between 7 PM and 3 AM. The position supports team driving to enhance efficiency and safety.

Day-to-day responsibilities for the CDL-A Driver include performing safety checks like pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractors/trucks and trailers, monitoring freight security, and reporting any safety hazards or needed repairs. The role requires documenting and verifying deliveries, safely loading and unloading products, and maintaining clean and secure working equipment. Drivers must complete daily records in compliance with federal, state, and company-level DOT regulations, participate in team collaborations within the organization, and adhere strictly to all safe driving guidelines. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 6 months commercial driving experience
  • Valid CDL-A license
  • Minimum age of 21 years
  • Compliance with all state licensing or certification requirements
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record for the past 3 years
  • Successful completion of post-offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Passing results on a road test
  • Attainment or ability to obtain a current DOT Health Card
  • Physical ability to hand-lift and use equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates to handle freight weighing 10 to 90 pounds

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 6+ months commercial driving experience
  • Valid CDL-A
  • Must be 21+ years of age
  • Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
  • Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift

Job Duties

  • Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner
  • Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company
  • Performs all required safety checks including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
  • Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required
  • Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
  • Immediately reports all safety hazards and inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
  • Performs count check of items and checks customer invoices of products that have been loaded
