The CDL-A Driver role at PFG Customized Distribution is a vital position within the food supply chain. These drivers ensure that products reach their destinations safely, timely, and in excellent condition. Beyond just transportation, they represent the face of the company and build loyal, long-lasting relationships with customers. This position involves driving tractor trailers or straight trucks on a variety of routes, including intrastate, interstate, local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight assignments. Drivers benefit from a four-night work week with a home daily schedule and dispatch times between 8:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. The role offers competitive compensation, including a weekly minimum guarantee equivalent to $80,000 - $90,000 annually, along with a notable $9,000 welcome bonus for new employees and a $2,500 referral bonus for current employees.
Safety and professionalism are priorities for the CDL-A Driver. They are responsible for conducting all necessary safety inspections such as pre- and post-trip checks on tractor, truck, and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company standards. Drivers must report all safety hazards and repairs promptly and comply with DOT and company safety guidelines at all times. The role includes handling the loading and unloading of products carefully, ensuring proper documentation is completed and obtaining customer signatures to confirm delivery. Drivers use equipment such as hand trucks, lift gates, and two-wheelers to manage freight, which can range significantly in weight. The position requires physical activity, including lifting and maneuvering goods weighing up to 90 pounds, depending on the delivery location.
Working at PFG Customized Distribution means joining a team dedicated to supporting America's food distribution system in a safe and inclusive environment. Employees receive day-one health and wellness benefits, a comprehensive employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and more. Overall, this opportunity offers a stable and rewarding career path for CDL-A Drivers who value safety, customer service, and teamwork while contributing to an essential industry that feeds the nation.
