The Driver Trainee position at PFG Customized Distribution is an entry-level role designed for individuals seeking to gain experience and training in driving commercial vehicles such as tractor trailers or straight trucks. This role involves intrastate and interstate deliveries on local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes, where trainees learn to deliver and unload various food and food-related products safely and efficiently. Trainees will assist with various delivery tasks, perform pre- and post-trip safety checks, inspect cargo for security and accuracy, and handle customer interactions professionally. The position requires a high safety standard and full compliance with DOT regulations, including maintaining up-to-date paperwork and log books. Trainees are entrusted with the responsibility of managing freight, conducting damage control inspections, collecting customer signatures, and handling payments where applicable.

This role offers a four-night workweek schedule with dispatch hours typically between 8:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m., alongside a weekly minimum guarantee that can total between $80,000 and $90,000 annually. It is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to establish a career in commercial truck driving with a reputable food service logistics company.
