Job Description
Transdev is a leading global mobility company that specializes in providing safe, reliable, and innovative transportation solutions. Operating across 19 countries and employing over 110,000 team members worldwide, Transdev is committed to empowering the freedom to move every day. Within the United States, Transdev manages transportation systems for cities, counties, airports, companies, and universities, serving communities with a fleet of more than 17,000 vehicles and a team of 32,000 employees spread over 400 locations. This comprehensive network and expertise make Transdev a trusted partner and employer in the mobility sector, emphasizing safety, customer service, and operational excellence.
The company is now seeking an experienced CDL Bus Driver based in Salinas, CA, to join its elite team. This full-time position offers an hourly starting pay of $27.00 under a Union Collective Bargaining Agreement, which also governs benefits and working conditions. The role is essential for maintaining high standards of transportation services and ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers throughout their journeys.
As a CDL Bus Driver at Transdev, you will be responsible for executing safe, efficient, and punctual bus operations by following designated routes and schedules meticulously. You will provide exceptional care to passengers, facilitating smooth boarding processes and comfortable rides, ensuring that everyone disembarks timely and securely. Your role will also include performing thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to maintain safety and cleanliness standards and promptly reporting any operational or maintenance issues. Compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements is paramount, including strict adherence to seat belt enforcement, emergency preparedness, and DOT regulations that emphasize a drug-free workplace.
Working at Transdev requires readiness to engage with the community while operating under varying environmental conditions. The physical demands include sitting for long periods, walking distances that may involve slippery or uneven terrain, and occasionally lifting or pushing objects weighing up to 50 pounds. The company supports reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities, ensuring an inclusive workplace.
This position is ideal for candidates who are 21 years or older with a valid CDL Class B or Class C license that includes a Passenger Endorsement. A minimum of three years of driving experience, whether personal or professional, alongside excellent communication and customer service skills, will enable candidates to succeed in this role. Flexibility to work shifts or varied schedules is required, and applicants must be able to pass DOT drug testing and physical examinations as mandated by federal regulations.
Transdev takes pride in fostering a drug-free and inclusive work environment, providing comprehensive benefits shortly after employment begins. These include vacation days, paid sick leave, medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, 401k plans, and paid company holidays, which are all part of the union-negotiated benefits package. Join Transdev to be part of a global leader dedicated to providing mobility that serves the common good, offering you the opportunity to grow your career in a supportive, professional setting.
