Job Description

Sysco Corporation is a global leader in selling, marketing, and distributing food products to restaurants, healthcare and educational facilities, and various other customers. Known for its extensive network and supply chain innovation, Sysco operates as a multinational distributor with a commitment to quality service and customer satisfaction. The company values efficiency, safety, and customer-centric operations, relying on a dedicated workforce to maintain its reputation as a trusted supplier in the foodservice industry.

This job opening is for the role of a Route Delivery Driver, which involves operating daily delivery routes with multiple stops. The driver will be responsible for loading and unloading packages on hand trucks and delivering products to specified locations in the order requested by management. The role operates within a cross-dock model, where the driver picks up a loaded truck from the nightly delivery dock and returns the empty truck at the end of the route. It is essential that candidates be physically fit, as duties include lifting heavy items (ranging from 1 to 75 pounds, and sometimes up to 100 pounds), maneuvering pallets and carts, and enduring varying weather conditions. This is a hands-on driving position that demands adherence to safety and operational policies such as pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Sysco's internal policies.

The role requires excellent customer service skills, as drivers will verify deliveries, obtain signatures, address and report discrepancies, and manage customer complaints professionally. Communication with supervisors will be ongoing to handle any issues and ensure smooth operational flow. Routes must be run efficiently and on time, meeting or exceeding company standards for delivery quality and productivity. Candidates should be familiar with operating commercial vehicles safely under a variety of conditions and capable of working independently with strong organizational skills.

Employment type and pay details specify an hourly rate between $22.00 and $29.00 with additional incentives, reflecting the position’s demands and the value Sysco places on experienced, reliable drivers. This job offers a rewarding career opportunity for individuals seeking to work with a reputable company in logistics and distribution, providing both competitive compensation and a supportive work environment focused on safety and operational excellence.
