Job Description
FreshPoint Central Florida, Inc. is a division of FreshPoint Central Florida, Inc., operating under the larger umbrella of Sysco Corporation, which is a global leader in foodservice distribution. Sysco is renowned for its vast network, with over 71,000 colleagues and a fleet exceeding 13,000 vehicles, serving more than 700,000 customer locations through approximately 333 distribution facilities worldwide. The company prides itself on fostering personal and professional growth opportunities for its employees and aims to provide exceptional service that consistently exceeds customer expectations. FreshPoint Central Florida specifically focuses on the distribution of fresh produce and related goods within central Florida, ensuring the highest quality and freshness for its clientele, which largely consists of foodservice businesses such as restaurants, hotels, and institutions. The company operates with a commitment to safety, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.FreshPoint Central Florida is seeking motivated and customer-oriented Delivery Drivers to join its team. This role entails running daily delivery routes that include frequent stops, with the responsibility of loading and unloading products in a designated sequence as determined by the Transportation Department Manager. The role operates on a cross-dock model where drivers pick up loaded trucks from nightly deliveries at assigned loading docks and return empty trucks to designated lots after completing routes. Drivers work away from the operating company (OpCo) at domiciled locations closer to customer markets, emphasizing the importance of excellent route efficiency and reliable service. The position requires physical endurance, including lifting and moving products weighing between 1 and 75 pounds—sometimes up to 100 pounds—and working under various weather conditions. Drivers are expected to handle company equipment properly, maintain safety standards by performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Sysco policies, and communicate professionally with customers to verify deliveries and resolve any issues such as discrepancies or complaints. This customer-facing position demands strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deliveries efficiently. It offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who are organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to one of the largest foodservice distribution networks globally. The compensation is algorithmically determined based on various factors, including skills, location, and experience, to ensure fair and competitive pay. This role does not entail travel outside the designated route areas, providing a stable working environment. FreshPoint Central Florida and Sysco are committed to inclusivity and equal opportunity, promoting diversity in the workplace where all qualified applicants are welcome regardless of race, religion, sex, age, disability, or veteran status.
