Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- one year of tractor trailer driving experience preferred
- valid Class B Commercial Driver's License
- insurable to operate a vehicle
- ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- ability to meet physical demands including lifting up to 50 pounds
- willing to work overnight, weekends, holidays, and overtime
- ability to follow safety protocols and food safety guidelines
- legally authorized to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent degree
- one year of tractor trailer driving experience preferred
- completion of tractor trailer driving school considered
- ability to read and speak English sufficiently
- knowledge of DOT regulations and Hazmat guidelines
- skill in driving long distances over various terrains and weather
- ability to operate a Class B unit or non-CDL box truck safely
- ability to meet minimum productivity levels
- ability to handle hazardous materials and food items
- ability to operate on-board computer and hand carts
- basic math skills
- effective work planning and problem-solving skills
Job Duties
- Safely transports product from warehouse to customer location according to assigned route
- unloads product from trailer by hand or using hand cart in all weather conditions and places in designated customer storage areas
- picks up, loads, and unloads damaged goods and customer returns
- completes all paperwork according to company and governmental guidelines, including DOT logs and vehicle maintenance reports
- ensures food safety protocols are met by maintaining proper temperatures and inspecting product
- maintains sanitary conditions in tractor, trailer, warehouse and yard
- follows preferred work methods and reports any unsafe conditions to management
- maintains and safely operates all assigned equipment
- develops and establishes good relationships with customers by providing excellent and courteous service
- communicates with management about route deviations, trailer or loading issues
- transports products picked up via backhauls and line hauls
- works assigned schedule including overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call as needed
- performs other duties as assigned by management
