This CDL B Driver role in Jacksonville, FL is a key operational position responsible for delivering compressed gas cylinders safely and efficiently to local and regional business customers. Utilizing an Airgas-provided CDL B vehicle, the driver will conduct frequent loading, unloading, and return of gas cylinders and Dewars while developing strong, professional relationships with customers. The role calls for individuals with a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the physical capability to handle the job’s active, hands-on nature involving lifting and maneuvering heavy equipment.
The position offers a stable and predictable Monday through Friday schedule starting at 5:00 am, designed to promote work-life balance by ensuring home daily opportunities and an average of 40-50 work hours per week. Job Requirements
- Valid Class A or B CDL with Hazmat and Airbrake endorsements
- Current Hazmat endorsement
- Appropriate driver's license, medical card, and endorsements
- Clean driving record with no more than two traffic convictions or accidents in the last three years
- No DUI or controlled substances offenses in the last seven years
- Ability to work in a drug-free environment
- Ability to regularly lift 75 lbs and move more than 125 lbs using material handling equipment
- Minimum one year of CDL driving experience in the last five years or recent trucking school completion
Job Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B CDL with Hazmat and Airbrake endorsements
- Must currently have Hazmat endorsement
- Maintain appropriate driver’s license, medical card and endorsements
- No more than two traffic convictions or two at-fault accidents in the last 3 years, or a combination of one traffic conviction and one at-fault accident
- No driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances in the last 7 years
- Able to work in a drug-free environment
- Capable of regularly lifting 75 lbs and moving more than 125 lbs with material handling equipment
- One year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or certificate of completion from trucking school in the last 12 months
- Forklift experience preferred
Job Duties
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Load and unload the truck daily with gas cylinders, Dewars and supplies
- Nurture courteous and professional relationships with customers
- Support deliveries in a timely manner
- Safely secure and unsecure cylinders
- Complete deliveries on customer property sites using a hand cart
- Frequently move in and out of the vehicle during deliveries
