Airgas is currently seeking a dedicated CDL B Driver for the Jacksonville, FL location. This local driving position is essential for ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers using a company-provided vehicle. The role includes physically active tasks such as loading and unloading compressed gases and Dewars, as well as returning empty cylinders back to the branch or plant. The driver will frequently engage with customers, nurturing professional relationships and supporting timely deliveries. The position offers a predictable Monday-Friday schedule with early starts at 5:00 am and a workload averaging 40 to 50 hours per week, promoting a healthy work-life balance with opportunities to be home daily.
As a valued member of the Airgas team, the CDL B Driver will perform vehicle inspections, safely secure cargo, navigate customer delivery sites using hand carts, and maintain compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements. This role demands physical stamina and the ability to handle materials weighing up to 75 lbs, sometimes moving weights over 125 lbs with the aid of equipment. The position requires a valid Class A or B CDL with Hazmat and Airbrake endorsements, with Hazmat certification being mandatory.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- valid Class A or B CDL with Hazmat and Airbrake endorsements
- current medical card
- no more than two traffic convictions or two at-fault accidents in the last three years
- no DUI in the last seven years
- ability to work in a drug-free environment
- physical ability to lift and handle heavy materials
- minimum one year CDL driving experience in the last five years or recent trucking school completion
- Hazmat certification required
Job Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B CDL with Hazmat and Airbrake endorsements
- one year of CDL driving experience in the last five years or a certificate of completion from trucking school in the last 12 months
- ability to regularly lift 75lbs and move more than 125lbs with equipment
- knowledge of safety regulations and protocols
- forklift experience preferred
Job Duties
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- load and unload the truck daily with gas cylinders, Dewars, and supplies
- nurture courteous and professional relationships with customers
- support deliveries in a timely manner
- safely secure and unsecure cylinders
- complete deliveries on customer property sites using a hand cart
- frequently move in and out of the vehicle
