Job Description
This job opportunity is with a reputable company specializing in transportation and delivery services, known for its commitment to efficient logistics and customer satisfaction. The company operates within a distribution network that involves cross-dock model logistics, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products to various customers, supporting business operations across multiple sectors. As a key player in the supply chain, the organization values professionalism, safety, and reliability, reflected in its hiring of skilled drivers who uphold these standards daily.
The role offered is for a Driver, a position that entails managing daily delivery routes with numerous scheduled stops to unload packages and products strategically. Candidates will be responsible for loading packages onto hand trucks and unloading goods at each stop along their assigned route, following the order and instructions given by the Transportation Department Manager. This position is essential in maintaining the flow of goods from loaded trucks to customers' storage areas, often requiring physical labor such as lifting, pushing, and transporting products in varied weather and spatial conditions.
The role also demands strong customer service skills, as drivers will frequently verify deliveries with customers, obtain proper signatures, resolve complaints professionally, and communicate any discrepancies or returns promptly to management. This customer-facing aspect requires an individual who can uphold the company image through courteous and effective interaction.
In addition to delivery duties, the driver is expected to perform safety inspections, such as pre-trip and post-trip checks, following Department of Transportation regulations and company policies to ensure vehicle and road safety. Occasionally, the role may extend to assisting with truck loading, palletizing products, and other tasks as assigned by supervisors, emphasizing teamwork and flexibility.
The driver must be physically capable of handling product weights ranging mostly from 1 to 75 pounds, with occasional lifts up to 100 pounds, and must be comfortable bending, twisting, climbing, and moving in confined spaces. Maintaining productivity, meeting delivery time targets, and following the provided route plans efficiently are critical to success in this role.
This employment typically involves full-time work with a focus on safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction. The driver role is vital to the company's overall success in logistics and customer service, offering an opportunity for individuals seeking a dynamic and physically engaging position in the transportation industry with appropriate training and support.
