The role of a Food and Food Service Delivery Driver at Vistar is essential in ensuring that the products reach customers on time and in excellent condition, while simultaneously representing the face of the company by building and maintaining strong customer relationships. This position requires driving a tractor trailer or straight truck under a CDL-B license for intrastate and interstate routes, including local deliveries, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop routes. The driver must comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies to guarantee a safe and efficient delivery process. Responsibilities include conducting mandatory safety inspections, accurately completing delivery paperwork, loading and unloading products, securing freight, and handling customer interactions professionally. The driver will also manage cash or check collections when required, ensure all equipment and trailers are secured, and maintain cleanliness and order in work areas.
