The role of a Food and Food Service Delivery Driver at Vistar is essential in ensuring that the products reach customers on time and in excellent condition, while simultaneously representing the face of the company by building and maintaining strong customer relationships. This position requires driving a tractor trailer or straight truck under a CDL-B license for intrastate and interstate routes, including local deliveries, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop routes. The driver must comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies to guarantee a safe and efficient delivery process. Responsibilities include conducting mandatory safety inspections, accurately completing delivery paperwork, loading and unloading products, securing freight, and handling customer interactions professionally. The driver will also manage cash or check collections when required, ensure all equipment and trailers are secured, and maintain cleanliness and order in work areas. Job Requirements
- valid CDL-B license
- minimum age of 21 years
- high school diploma or GED equivalent
- clean motor vehicle report for the past 3 years
- pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- pass road test
- attain or currently hold a valid DOT health card
- ability to hand-lift and utilize equipment like two-wheeler and lift gate to move product cases/freight
- meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- perform all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation regulations
- follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- perform count check of items and verify customer invoices of loaded products
- complete accurate and legible paperwork associated with freight
- drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route and delivery schedule
- unload products from the trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas
- verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures
