The CDL-B Driver position at Performance Foodservice plays a vital role in the continuity of America’s food supply chain. Drivers are crucial in delivering food and food-related products safely and on time, ensuring customer satisfaction and the company's reputation. This role involves operating tractor trailers or straight trucks on various routes including intrastate, interstate, shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop assignments. Drivers are responsible for vehicle safety inspections, adherence to Department of Transportation regulations, accurate documentation, efficient loading and unloading, damage control, and secure handling of freight. The position requires effective communication with customers, vendors, and team members to ensure smooth delivery operations.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent
- 6+ months CDL driving experience
- Valid CDL-B license
- Must be 21+ years of age
- Meet all state licensing and certification requirements where applicable
- Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test
- Pass criminal background check in post offer process
- Pass road test
- Valid current DOT health card or able to secure new DOT health card
- Ability to hand-lift and use two-wheeler, lift gate, and other equipment to move and stack product cases and freight ranging from 10 to 90 pounds
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent
- 6+ months CDL driving experience
- Valid CDL-B
- Must be 21+ years of age
- Meet all state licensing and certification requirements where applicable
- Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test
- Pass criminal background check in post offer process

- Valid current DOT health card or able to secure new DOT health card
- Ability to hand-lift and use equipment to move and stack product cases of varying sizes and weights
Job Duties
- Perform all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer
- Report all safety issues and repairs required
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- Perform count check of items and verify customer invoices
- Complete accurate paperwork associated with freight
- Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route schedule
- Unload products and transport items into designated storage areas
- Perform damage control checks and contact supervisor for order removals
- Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
- Collect money where required
- Load customer returns onto trailer and secure trailer doors
- Ensure that tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured
- Complete daily record of hours of service and log according to federal, state, and company requirements
- Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clean
- Secure all equipment and finish necessary paperwork at shift end
- Perform other related duties as assigned
