Job Description

Performance Foodservice, a broadline distributor under Performance Food Group (PFG), is a prominent company dedicated to foodservice distribution. Known for servicing a vast range of local customers including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries, Performance Foodservice is more than just a food distributor. The company boasts a team of expert professionals such as sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and advisors who work closely with customers to enhance their operations. This includes assistance with menu development, product selection, and operational strategies aimed at improving efficiency and customer satisfaction. The foundation of Performance Foodservice lies in its commitment to excellence, relationship building, and supporting independent restaurant owners to achieve their goals and dreams by providing high-quality products and tailored service solutions.

The role of a Class B Delivery Driver at Performance Foodservice is a critical one, serving as the backbone of the food supply chain. This position is based out of Rogers, MN, with early morning dispatch times to ensure timely delivery. The company offers a starting wage of $24 per hour during a brief training period, moving to a component-based pay structure thereafter. The work schedule is a five-day week from Monday to Saturday, with shifts averaging 10-12 hours, including early starts between midnight and 5 a.m. A notable incentive is the $5,000 sign-on bonus, available to new hires who have not worked for any PFG-owned entity within the last six months.

Drivers are expected to operate tractor trailers or straight trucks either on local intrastate routes or interstate runs which may include over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop assignments. Responsibilities encompass all facets of safe delivery—conducting pre- and post-trip safety inspections, securing freight, accurately completing paperwork, and adhering strictly to Department of Transportation regulations. The driver is also the face of the company, maintaining professional and courteous interactions with customers and other stakeholders. Beyond driving, the role involves loading and unloading goods, performing damage checks, securing cargo, and maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of trucks and trailers. The work environment promotes safety, inclusiveness, and respect, offering growth opportunities and comprehensive benefits including day one health coverage, employee stock purchase plans, 401K employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off. Performance Foodservice places great emphasis on its drivers ensuring they not only deliver goods efficiently but also establish strong customer relationships that embody the company’s motto: "We Deliver the Goods." This career opportunity is ideal for individuals with commercial driving experience seeking stable employment with growth potential in a respected foodservice distribution company.
