Job Description
U.S. LUMBER GROUP is a well-established company specializing in lumber distribution and delivery services across the New England region. Known for its quick response times, deep industry knowledge, and relationships built on trust, U.S. LUMBER GROUP prides itself on delivering quality service while maintaining strong community ties and employee satisfaction. The company operates with a commitment to growth, diversity, and professionalism, making it an attractive employer for dedicated professionals seeking career advancement in the transportation and logistics sector. They have experienced significant expansion in customer base and operational capabilities, leading to numerous career opportunities within the company.
The current opening is for a Class A CDL Local Driver role. This position is home daily and involves travel throughout New England states including Massachusetts, Maine, Connecticut, Vermont, and New Hampshire. Drivers will operate tractor-trailers or flatbed trucks to transport lumber and related products to various customer locations. Key responsibilities include preparing and providing necessary documentation to ensure timely delivery or pickup, maintaining DOT travel logs compliant with federal and state regulations, and maintaining vehicle presentation and professional appearance. Employees wear assigned uniforms and present a professional demeanor as a representative of the company.
This role offers a competitive daily wage ranging from $315 to $365 per day, which reflects the value that U.S. LUMBER GROUP places on experienced and dependable drivers. The employment type is full-time, with drivers enjoying the benefits of working close to home while traveling within a defined geographic area of New England. The company also offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance starting the first of the month following 30 days of employment. Additionally, employees receive company-paid life insurance and disability coverage, a 401(k) plan with company match, three weeks of paid time off plus paid holidays, and volunteer time.
U.S. LUMBER GROUP values safety and loyalty, offering several driver incentive programs such as bi-annual safety gift recognitions, hall of fame rewards, employee loyalty programs, and referral bonuses. These programs are designed to recognize and reward safe driving practices and long-term employee commitment. The company is dedicated to supporting drivers with training and career development; while they prefer candidates with at least one year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience, they are willing to train the right individuals. This commitment to employee growth, combined with a supportive work environment and strong corporate values, makes this driving position a rewarding opportunity.
In summary, the Class A CDL Driver role at U.S. LUMBER GROUP is ideal for experienced or motivated individuals seeking a stable, rewarding career in the transportation industry. With a daily wage of $315 to $365, excellent benefits, meaningful support programs, and the chance to work close to home while seeing multiple New England states, this position offers both financial and professional incentives. U.S. LUMBER Group is an equal opportunity employer with a strong commitment to safety, diversity, and employee success, making it a prestigious and promising career choice for qualified applicants.
