This job opening is for a Class A Linehaul Truck Driver position based at the company’s Scranton, PA Service Center. Linehaul drivers at R+L Carriers are responsible for operating commercial vehicles that can include pulling van trailers up to 53 feet in length or double trailers between service centers and turn-point locations. Job Requirements
- CDL Class A
- One year combined verifiable Class A driving experience within the past three years
- Good driving record with no commercial serious violations and no more than three moving violations total within past three years
- Age 23 or 21 if FMCSA specs met for military to civilian CDL transition
- Must be able to operate equipment safely at all times
- Must be able to pass pre-employment DOT physical and drug screen
- Must be able to complete successful road test
- Must be able to bend, lift and stoop without difficulty
- Must be dependable
Job Qualifications
- Class A CDL license
- Minimum of one year of verifiable Class A driving experience within the past three years
- Good driving record with no serious violations
- Ability to pass DOT physical examination
- Successful completion of a road test
- Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently
- Dependable and reliable work ethic
- Preferred endorsements include doubles/triples, tanker, and haz-mat
- Experience with hauling haz-mat and LTL freight is an advantage
Job Duties
- Operate commercial vehicles pulling van trailers up to 53 feet or double trailers between service centers and turn-point locations
- Ensure compliance with all federal and company driving safety standards
- Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles
- Maintain accurate logs and complete necessary paperwork
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and other team members
- Handle freight with care and maintain the security of cargo
- Return home daily as part of a consistent work schedule
