Job Description
JBS Carriers is a premier multi-state and regional truckload carrier that specializes in the transportation of both refrigerated and non-refrigerated freight. They also handle unique freight types such as live haul, which includes cattle, hogs, and poultry, in addition to tankers, container chassis, and grain hoppers. With an established reputation in the transportation industry, JBS Carriers demonstrates its dedication to providing reliable and efficient freight solutions across various sectors. The company prides itself on offering excellent compensation packages combined with the convenience of daily home time, which is highly valued among truck drivers. JBS Carriers operates numerous shuttle, local, and short-haul driving opportunities tailored to truck drivers looking for work within regions they live.
The role available at JBS Carriers is for CDL A Drivers focusing on local and short-haul runs with a special live cattle haul opportunity. This role offers a highly competitive salary ranging from $72,000 to $90,000 annually, ensuring drivers are compensated well for their expert services. Drivers will benefit from paid by load compensation, with rates starting at $285 per day for drivers with one year of experience, increasing to $347 per day for those with 20 years of experience. Orientation pay and six paid holidays are also included. The company emphasizes comfort and convenience by providing daily home time, ensuring drivers can rest and recuperate with their families regularly.
Working with JBS Carriers also comes with perks including a $5,000 retention bonus, comprehensive health benefits (medical, prescription, dental, and vision) after just 60 days of employment, and additional safety and retention bonuses. Their orientation program is designed to be simplified by allowing drivers to start online and complete the final steps at their local terminals. There's also a lucrative referral program that offers up to $3,100 per driver referral, including weekly and milestone bonuses.
Typical working hours are Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays, with shifts starting late evening and ending early morning, aligning well with short-haul and local freight schedules. Drivers handle 10 to 14-hour workdays and primarily service local feed yards. Beyond driving, the position requires coordination with dispatch, plants, and feed lots to ensure the efficient handling of freight, emphasizing the safe and humane transport of livestock. This role suits drivers seeking daily home time, stable routes, and the opportunity to work for a respected company that values safety and driver welfare.
