Job Description
JBS Carriers is a prominent multi-state and regional truckload carrier that specializes in transporting both refrigerated and non-refrigerated freight. This includes live haul cargo such as cattle, hogs, and poultry, as well as tankers, container chassis, and grain hoppers. Recognized for its reliable service and strong industry presence, JBS Carriers provides truck drivers with well-paying opportunities that emphasize daily home time, contributing to a healthy work-life balance. The company’s extensive network covers various regions, allowing drivers to find shuttle, local, and short-haul positions that best fit their experience and preferences. JBS Carriers prides itself on its commitment to safety, efficiency, and humane handling of livestock during transport, further distinguishing itself in the trucking industry.
The role offered by JBS Carriers is a CDL A Driver position focused on local and short-haul runs with daily home time, which is especially attractive for drivers seeking stable schedules and the ability to stay connected with their families. Drivers in this position have the unique opportunity to handle live cattle hauling, which requires attention to detail and adherence to stringent safety and animal welfare standards. Earning potential ranges from $75,000 to $92,000 annually, reflecting competitive pay rates and additional incentives such as paid wait time during loading and unloading, orientation pay, and a lucrative pay-by-load system averaging around $1,500 per week.
In addition to competitive compensation, JBS Carriers offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, vision, medical, and dental coverage beginning after 60 days of employment. Paid sick leave, six company-observed holidays, and a 401(k) retirement plan with company matching add to the overall package, providing security and wellness support. Drivers can also benefit from a $5,000 retention bonus, rider policies (except pets), simplified orientation processes that blend online and terminal training, and monthly safety bonuses. Furthermore, there are referral bonuses up to $3,100, rewarding drivers for bringing new members into the team.
The working schedule typically runs Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays and early morning start times between 2 AM and 6 AM until 3 PM or later. The routes cover various local feed yards, requiring drivers to coordinate load information with plants, dispatch centers, and feed lots. This role demands not only driving skills but also the ability to manage logistics, maintain communication, and ensure the humane and safe transport of livestock. JBS Carriers supports its drivers with mentoring and training programs, especially for those with less than one year of tractor-trailer experience, fostering growth and skill development within a supportive company culture.
Overall, the CDL A Driver position at JBS Carriers is ideal for individuals seeking a stable, well-compensated job in a respected transportation company that values safety, employee wellbeing, and reliability. Priority is given to experienced drivers with tractor-trailer experience, but new drivers can also take advantage of the mentorship programs to advance their careers. With its strong commitment to daily home time, competitive pay, and a robust benefits package, JBS Carriers stands out as an excellent employer in the trucking industry.
