Job Description
JBS Carriers is a prominent multi-state and regional truckload carrier known for its specialization in both refrigerated and non-refrigerated freight. Their diverse services include the transport of live haul such as cattle, hogs, and poultry, as well as tankers, container chassis, and grain hoppers. As part of one of the largest beef processors and food companies in the world, JBS Carriers maintains a reputation for reliability and dedication to quality service in the trucking industry. With a commitment to providing well-paying truck driving opportunities that emphasize daily home time, JBS Carriers appeals to drivers seeking a balanced work-life schedule and competitive compensation.
The position available is for CDL A Drivers specializing in local and short haul runs, with opportunities for live cattle hauling. The role is designed for drivers who value routine home time, as the company offers daily home time for its local and short haul positions. The salary range offered for this role is competitive, ranging from $75,000 to $92,000 annually. Compensation is structured on a per-load basis, with an average weekly earning of around $1,500, along with paid wait time during loading and unloading processes and orientation pay.
Drivers in this role will enjoy flexible work days, primarily Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays. Early morning start times between 2 to 6 AM extend until 3 PM or later to suit operational needs. The driving regions cover various local feed yards, enhancing the connection between the driver and their community. This role also involves coordination with plants, dispatch, and feed lots, making communication and logistical skills essential. Moreover, for drivers handling live cattle, responsibilities extend to the safe and humane handling of livestock, ensuring that animal welfare is a top priority alongside freight delivery.
JBS Carriers supports its drivers with a robust benefits package designed for long-term career growth and personal well-being. Drivers are eligible for health benefits including vision, medical, and dental coverage after 60 days of employment. The company offers paid sick leave and six company observed holidays. Additionally, a 401(k) match plan starts after one year of service, with a five-year vesting schedule, encouraging financial security for the future. A notable retention bonus of $5,000 and a referral bonus program rewarding successful driver referrals up to $3,100 show the company's commitment to its workforce. Furthermore, riders are allowed after three months under a rider policy, excluding pets, providing an added convenience for select drivers. The orientation process is simplified with an online start and completion at a local terminal, ensuring a smooth transition into the company for new hires.
Overall, JBS Carriers provides a professional, dependable, and driver-focused work environment with excellent pay and benefits, daily home time, and opportunities to work within a respected and expanding logistics network. This opportunity is ideal for CDL A drivers who seek stability, fair compensation, and the chance to work for a respected carrier with a strong reputation within the transportation and freight industry.
