This role offers a career-building opportunity as a US Foods driver, working primarily Monday through Friday with early morning start times between 4am and 8am. Drivers have the advantage of being home daily, promoting a healthy work-life balance. Compensation for this position starts from $22.46 to $27.46 per hour, with the potential to earn $35.00 or more per hour based on experience and performance. Additionally, eligible new hires with relevant foodservice delivery experience may benefit from a retention bonus of up to $10,000. The delivery driver position is vital to the success of US Foods, as drivers serve as key representatives of the company on the road and in customer interactions. Drivers are expected to operate safely, deliver on schedule, and provide excellent customer service that enhances the client experience.

As a US Foods driver, your duties will include safely driving trucks to customer locations, unloading product carefully using equipment such as pallet jacks and two-wheelers, verifying delivery accuracy, handling collections when required, and maintaining professional conduct to build strong relationships with customers. Pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections are part of the role to ensure safety and compliance. Physical endurance is essential since delivering requires handling heavy loads and driving in varying weather conditions. Candidates must register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse, possess a valid CDL Class A license with necessary endorsements, and have documented driving experience, especially in commercial or food and beverage delivery. The ability to read and communicate in English fluently is also required to comply with safety regulations and customer interactions effectively. Job Requirements

  • Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
  • Minimum of six months commercial driving experience (any industry) or three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry
  • Must be able to read and communicate in English
  • Ability to operate manual transmission preferred

Job Duties

  • Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
  • Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas
  • Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures
  • Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
  • Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience
  • Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections
