The US Foods Driver role based in Appleton, WI, offers an opportunity to join a community of dedicated food service professionals. This position is tailored for candidates ready to build a solid career within a leading company. The job schedule consists of four 10-hour days from Monday to Friday, with shifts typically starting between 3 AM to 5 AM. Overtime pay is provided for any hours worked beyond the standard 10-hour day. Compensation is competitive, with the expected base rate for this role at $34.04 per hour, complemented by overtime pay to reward additional efforts.

As a US Foods Driver, your primary responsibility will be to deliver products safely and efficiently to customer locations while ensuring timely and accurate deliveries that meet customer expectations. This entails the careful unloading and placement of goods using equipment such as two-wheelers or pallet jacks, verifying delivery accuracy with customers, and managing necessary paperwork including signatures and, when applicable, collections and payments. The role emphasizes strong customer service skills to enhance the client experience and contribute to building trust and loyalty. Truck inspection duties before and after trips ensure vehicle safety and regulatory compliance.

Physical stamina is critical for this job as it involves repetitive lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of products weighing between 20 to over 80 pounds. Working in various weather conditions and frequent stops are part of the daily routine. Drivers must also register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse to comply with Department of Transportation regulations, validating their eligibility and adherence to safety standards.

To qualify, applicants must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid CDL Class A license with endorsements and meet DOT requirements, and have at least six months of commercial driving experience or a minimum of three months in food or beverage delivery. Skills like manual transmission operation may be required depending on location. Excellent English communication is essential to interact with customers and complete required documentation accurately.

Job Duties

  • Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
  • Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas
  • Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures
  • Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
  • Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience
  • Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
