The US Foods Driver role is a vital position that contributes significantly to the company's success by ensuring safe and timely delivery of food and related products to a diverse customer base. This full-time position requires dedication to safety, punctuality, and excellent customer service. The typical schedule runs Monday through Saturday, often beginning early in the morning, with start times between 3 AM and 6 AM. The position is currently located with plans to relocate to Aurora, Illinois, in mid-2026.
Compensation for this role is competitive, generally ranging from $35.89 to $39.88 per hour, depending on relevant experience, education, skills, job function, and geographic location. The driver’s primary duties encompass a broad range of responsibilities designed to ensure efficient and accurate delivery services. This includes safely operating trucks, carefully unloading products using appropriate equipment or manual handling methods, verifying delivery accuracy with customers, obtaining signatures, and handling customer payments when necessary. Drivers are also expected to perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to maintain safety and compliance with Department of Transportation regulations.
Physical requirements for the role include the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing between 20 to 80 or more pounds repetitively throughout each shift. Drivers must be comfortable operating vehicles in all weather conditions and making frequent stops, sometimes exceeding ten per shift. A valid CDL Class A license with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications is mandatory, and candidates must be at least 21 years old. Commercial driving experience, particularly in the food and beverage delivery sector, is preferred, with a minimum of three to six months required based on industry experience. The ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle may be preferred or required depending on location.
This role requires good communication skills in English to understand traffic signs, respond to inquiries, and complete paperwork accurately. - Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
- Minimum of six months commercial driving experience (any industry) OR three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry
- Ability to operate manual transmission preferred
- Must be able to read and communicate in the English language
- Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse

Job Duties
- Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
- Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas
- Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures
- Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
- Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience
- Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
