The Transport Driver role at AmeriGas offers a unique career opportunity for individuals who are safety-minded and customer-focused. Transport Drivers are essential to the supply chain, responsible for driving 11,400-gallon tanker trucks to pick up propane from supply points such as refineries, pipeline terminals, and storage facilities, and delivering it to AmeriGas facilities in the area. This position involves driving approximately 500 miles per day, making four to five pickups and deliveries, and working up to 14 hours daily. Approximately 80 percent of the workday involves driving or waiting at supply points. Drivers are expected to perform routine inspections on their trucks twice daily, attach and operate hoses for loading and unloading propane safely, and occasionally climb ladders to check gauges on bulk tanks.

Compensation for this role includes an hourly wage ranging from $23.87 to $24.87 based on skills, qualifications, and other factors. Additionally, Transport Drivers may be eligible for performance bonuses or sales commissions, depending on their position.
