Job Description

US Foods is a leading foodservice distribution company, known for its extensive network and dedication to serving the culinary needs of customers across the United States. With a broad portfolio of high-quality food products and innovative solutions, US Foods supports a variety of foodservice operations, including restaurants, healthcare facilities, and hospitality businesses. The company fosters a culture that values continuous improvement, professional development, and career growth, making it one of the most respected names in the food distribution sector.

US Foods is currently seeking dedicated and motivated CDL Class A Drivers to join their team. This role involves safely operating commercial trucks to deliver food products to customers following a set route and schedule, which includes weekends and home daily shifts. Drivers in this position will typically work 12 to 14-hour shifts with 10 to 15 stops per day, ensuring timely deliveries and exceptional customer service throughout their routes. Compensation ranges between $25.83 and $50 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and location, and eligible new hires can receive a retention bonus of $12,000.

The role requires strong attention to safety and detail, including pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and careful handling and unloading of products using equipment such as pallet jacks and two-wheelers. Drivers are expected to engage professionally with customers, verify delivery accuracy, obtain necessary signatures, and handle collections where applicable. This position demands physical endurance to lift, carry, push, or pull 20 to 80+ pounds repeatedly during shifts, as well as the ability to work in various weather conditions while managing frequent stops.

US Foods emphasizes safety compliance by requiring all drivers to register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse, a federal database monitoring commercial driver drug and alcohol program violations. Drivers must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid CDL Class A with the necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications, and possess at least six months of commercial driving experience in any industry or three months within food and beverage delivery specifically. Experience with manual transmissions is preferred and may be required in certain locations.

Beyond competitive pay and comprehensive benefits—which include health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, a retirement plan, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability coverage, an employee stock purchase program, and life insurance—US Foods offers a supportive work environment focused on internal promotion, skill-building, and ongoing training. Drivers are considered vital representatives of the US Foods brand, entrusted to uphold the company’s values of integrity, reliability, and excellent customer service. Prospective drivers can expect a rewarding career path with the opportunity to grow and thrive within one of the nation’s largest food distributors.
