Job Description
Dollar General Fleet is a prominent logistics division of Dollar General, one of the leading discount retailers in the United States. Dollar General operates thousands of stores nationwide, providing convenient access to everyday products at affordable prices. Their fleet operations play a crucial role in maintaining the supply chain that connects distribution centers to retail stores, ensuring that products are delivered efficiently and on time. As a growing company, Dollar General Fleet consistently expands its logistics capabilities to support its retail network and meet customer demand. This particular role is within a company that values dependability and work-life balance, focusing on regional routes designed to offer drivers a home every week, which distinguishes it from many long-haul driving opportunities that often demand extended periods away from home.
As a Class A CDL Truck Driver for Dollar General Fleet, you will be an essential part of the supply chain process, responsible for safely transporting goods from distribution centers to Dollar General stores and newly added locations across the country. This is a regional home weekly driving position, meaning drivers will have the regular opportunity to return home weekly and enjoy their time with family, friends, and even their pets. The company supports a pet-friendly driving environment, allowing drivers to bring one vaccinated and non-aggressive dog or cat along on their trips under specific guidelines. Drivers can expect to operate new equipment, enhancing both safety and comfort on the road.
Compensation for this role is highly competitive, with the potential to earn up to $100,000 per year. Pay includes mileage and stop pay, supplemented by quarterly safety bonuses, all paid on a weekly basis. Dollar General Fleet rewards professional drivers who demonstrate commitment and safe driving practices. Benefits kick in from day one and include a comprehensive package with 401k retirement savings options, insurance coverage, and other employee supports. This role requires valid Class A CDL certification, a minimum of one year of tractor/trailer driving experience, and the candidate must be at least 21 years old.
This driver position provides a unique blend of professional responsibility, reliable income, meaningful benefits, and the quality of life benefits that come with home weekly schedules and a pet-inclusive policy. For those looking to grow their trucking career in a stable and supportive environment with a well-known retail brand, Dollar General Fleet offers an excellent opportunity. Interested candidates can apply easily online or call a recruiter to discuss the role further and start a rewarding career driving for one of the country’s most trusted retailers.
