Job Description

Dollar General Fleet is a prominent logistics and transportation arm of Dollar General, one of the largest discount retailers in the United States. The company specializes in delivering goods and supplies from distribution centers directly to Dollar General stores across various regions. With a commitment to efficiency, safety, and a strong focus on employee well-being, Dollar General Fleet provides an excellent opportunity for professional drivers looking for a rewarding and stable career. The company is known for offering competitive pay, benefits starting from day one, and a supportive work environment that values teamwork and professionalism.

Dollar General Fleet is currently hiring Class A CDL Truck Drivers for regional home weekly routes. This role is perfect for drivers who value getting home regularly while having the opportunity to contribute to a major national retail logistics network. As a Dollar General fleet driver, you will be responsible for connecting distribution centers with store locations, helping to ensure that products reach shelves on time and that new store expansions are supported seamlessly. The role presents a unique combination of home time, competitive earnings, and a pet-friendly policy, making it a desirable position for many drivers.

In this capacity, you will operate modern tractor-trailer equipment to deliver merchandise on regional routes designed to allow consistent weekly home time. Dollar General Fleet emphasizes safety and offers quarterly safety bonuses to reward drivers who maintain excellent driving records. Earnings potential is attractive, with drivers earning up to $100,000 per year, based on mileage, stops, route location, experience, and safety bonus eligibility. Payroll is weekly, ensuring a steady and predictable income stream.

The company also offers a comprehensive benefits package available from the first day of employment, including 401k retirement options and access to new equipment. One of the unique lifestyle aspects of driving for Dollar General Fleet is the pet policy that allows drivers to bring one vaccinated, non-aggressive dog or cat along for the ride, subject to registration and vaccination proof. This policy supports driver morale and helps maintain a positive work-life balance.

This role requires a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), a minimum age of 21 years, and at least one year of previous tractor-trailer driving experience. Drivers must also adhere to company safety and operational standards, ensuring high service levels and promoting the company’s reputation for reliability. The position is an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers seeking regional routes that combine competitive pay, benefits, steady work, and the comfort of home time every week.
