US Foods operates extensive distribution networks and employs a vast team committed to delivering excellence and maintaining strong customer relationships across various regions. The company’s commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction distinguishes it as a top choice for foodservice businesses nationwide.

The role in focus is that of a Commercial Driver (CDL Class A) for US Foods, where driving safety, efficiency, and exceptional customer service are paramount. This position offers a 5-6 day work schedule including weekends, with a home daily arrangement ensuring that employees can return home every day after completing a route. Drivers can expect shifts lasting between 12 to 14 hours with approximately 10 to 15 stops per day. This role involves delivering food products directly to customers, requiring careful handling and placement of goods within customer storage locations.

A significant highlight of this opportunity is the $12,000 hiring bonus available to eligible new hires, underscoring US Foods’ commitment to attracting and retaining top talent. This role carries substantial responsibilities, including driving commercial vehicles safely under a wide array of conditions, performing daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, and managing customer interactions professionally.

Physical demands are also a key component of this job, involving repetitive lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of substantial loads ranging from 20 to over 80 pounds. Comfort working in inclement weather and making multiple stops during a shift is essential. Applicants need to be at least 21 years old, hold a valid CDL Class A license with required endorsements, and be registered with the FMCSA Clearinghouse—a secure federal database concerning CDL drivers’ drug and alcohol program violations.

At US Foods, drivers are more than just operators of transportation equipment; they are vital representatives who embody the company’s core values and contribute to its mission of GREAT FOOD. MADE EASY™. The company supports its employees with an attractive benefits package that includes health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability coverage, employee stock purchase plans, and life insurance.
