Job Description

US Foods is one of the largest food distributors in the United States, known for its strong culture of promotion from within and a commitment to unlimited career growth opportunities. The company continually invests in ongoing job skills and leadership development training to help employees excel in their roles. US Foods offers competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and a work environment where employees are valued and rewarded for their dedication and hard work. The organization prides itself on its pillars of cultural beliefs, work ethic, collaborative spirit, and exceptional service. US Foods operates with the philosophy of "You Matter," placing a strong emphasis on rewarding employees for their efforts and fostering a supportive work culture.

The role of a US Foods Delivery Driver is vital to the company’s success and customer satisfaction. Drivers are tasked with delivering high-quality food products such as meats, produce, frozen goods, groceries, dry goods, equipment, and supplies to various customer drop-off points. This position is designed to provide local routes, ensuring drivers can be home every night. The work schedule generally operates from Monday to Saturday, starting early and continuing until routes are completed. Compensation for this role begins at an estimated rate of $28.98 per hour at 70% union rate, with the potential to increase to $32.20 per hour at 100% union rate after successfully completing a 90-day probation period. In addition to base pay, drivers receive overtime compensation.

US Foods offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability insurance, an employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance. The company also provides paid training, pension plans, and a commitment to recognizing employee service and rewarding outstanding contributions. Drivers are supported by excellent leadership and a workplace culture dedicated to respect and fair compensation.

As a delivery driver, you represent a critical face of US Foods, responsible for maintaining best-in-class customer service and timely delivery schedules. The job requires physical stamina, including manual heavy lifting up to 80 pounds and the ability to work in varied weather conditions. Drivers will frequently make multiple stops throughout their shifts to unload products safely using equipment such as hand trucks and verify deliveries with customers. In some cases, drivers may also collect payments via cash or checks.

This role requires that candidates be at least 21 years of age and hold a valid CDL Class A license issued by their state of residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications. US Foods prefers candidates with a high school diploma or GED, and driving experience of at least six months in any commercial driving industry or three months within food and beverage delivery. Compliance with safety standards is paramount, including having no more than two traffic convictions in the past two years, no DUI convictions in the last three years, and no suspensions of driver’s license in the past three years. Drivers must also pass a DOT physical examination to ensure fitness for duty.

This opportunity at US Foods invites dedicated and reliable individuals to join a transportation team that values integrity, reliability, and building strong, trustworthy customer relationships. The company encourages prospective applicants to view their job preview video "A Day in the Life - Delivery Truck Driver" available on their official Vimeo channel and stay connected via social media, affirming their commitment to transparency and ongoing engagement with the community.
